The state of innovating today has some interesting parallels to the state of Industrial Engineering in the early 1990βs.
Between 1990 and 1996, the term Lean Manufacturing was gradually adopted to describe a business system that combined a fragmented range of techniques and methodologies used to improve business performance. Lean Manufacturing became the descriptive name of this business system.
Innovating practice today has a similar fragmented nature of techniques and methodologies. But innovating practice hasnβt yet coalesced into an industry recognized business system such as Lean Manufacturing.
We developed Agile Innovating TM to create a business system that is as robustly applicable to innovating as Lean Manufacturing has been for Operations.
The A β I professional service offering is for business leaders who need more impactful innovating now, and want more reliable innovation outcomes in the future.
Agile Innovating TM is a system that increases the innovating hit rate, yielding more innovation faster, unlike non-systemic processes that over-emphasize NPD management and under-estimate the friction generated by uncertainty, systemic change, and business disruption that derails innovation.
A – I de-risks innovating by purposefully identifying and reducing uncertainty from all sources, while managing development and change to minimize internal business disruption through-out a project.
